FIU Outreach Program.

The FIU Farmers Outreach program is a training program that educates future or beginning farmers in sustainable farming and farm business practices and help them become better farmers or transition into farming.

This program is to assist veterans, small farmers, and the socially disadvantaged by offering hands-on experience through apprenticeships and workshops.

The long-term goal of the project is to equip these individuals with necessary technical know-how farm entrepreneurial skills and increased access to government assistance programs so they can launch their viable farm operations —> how to gain access to USDA assistance and grant programs and on general technical and business aspects of farming.
